I love how the Paladin and Ser Andras have complementary approaches to solving problems. Sometimes you do need to kill people with a sword, but also sometimes you need to stay focused and make a big stink and become very annoying to get things done! Ser Andras would do very well on a modern-day city council.

Nice, and these paladin stories just keep getting better

Erdic reminds me a bit of GRR Martin's hedge knight, Duncan the Tall, though here it seems faith is a more effective path than in those novellas.

Yes, that's because I LOVE those novellas. He is definitely an unconscious inspiration.

Digging the Paladin tales.

Rent is, indeed, a subtle form of slavery.

Interesting story. Nice to have basic goodness play out without religious overtones getting in the way. Yes, what is right is complicated and solutions hard to find. Doesn't mean they can't be solved with patience and good intent. What seems to be missing in today's version is the good intent. On one side anyway.

Nice story! It would be a good tale to be a graphic novel!

Thanks! I had that thought earlier about Erdric actually—I feel like he’d be a great graphic novel hero.
