In defense of not working very much on your writing

          I just read this blog post by Scott Lynch where he talks about how there's no shortcut to success other than hard work. And I liked it. But it's also part of a genre of blog posts: the "you have to work your fingers to the bone to maybe get anywhere at all as a writer!" genre.
