Confessions of a YA writer

For the first ten years of my professional career, I was primarily a writer of young adult novels. Sometimes people ask me how this happened. The truth is that there was a YA boom at the time (2014-2024), and when there’s a boom it just naturally occurs to you that it’s easier to sell a book if you market it as YA.
